It is full of cliches and majority of characters are just cardboard cutouts of stereotypes and overly used tropes. While the world of 1920+ is interesting, the campaign story isn't. So did a lot of its predecessor had campaign. While the game has a campaign, it is no big whoop.

A Saxony gunner is no different from a Polania gunner. While they have different uniforms, Infantry are just copy paste of each other across all factions. Pretty much losing any feeling of awe that came from Jakub's concept art. They even down scaled a lot of the mechs. There is very little things you can do to influence the outcome of the battle. So pretty much all mech vs mech fights revolve around just two mechs having a slugging match until the other just gives up. Majority of them can't even shoot and move. They are basically re-skinned tanks minus the rotating turrets. The star of show which are mechs are a joke. Nor did they revolutionize or add anything new to the genre. They didn't revitalize the golden age of RTS they boldly like to claim. Me and my friend always get kicked out after finish a match. At times I feel like I find myself playing by the map and the unit bar, and barely having to look at what's going on. Having to click to scroll over to more units is rough. Some UI stuff could have been done better, and unit selecting and grouping could be more intuitive. In Iron Harvest, if I have an infantry unit out somewher and they spot a mech, there's no point in even calling a retreat, those dude's are goners. I play Homeworld, and HW Kharak, and even in the fast paced action of those games I still feel like I have time to maneuver units and build resources. The pacing even with a 'very long' victory points feels like you're almost rushing to gain a little ground. There definitely should be some tweaks for balancing between unit-to-unit, and mech-to-mech, as well as mech-to-unit. The AI are pretty insane even on easy, they crank out units and just go full-in on objectives and decimating your base. That being said, gameplay-wise there are some issues, similar to what I can make out of HeoQuay's post there.

Plus I've been interested in the Great War and the post WW1 era lately I love the world of Jakub Rozalski, and I'm a sucker for anything mech related. I have a feeling Heo doesn't speak english, that was a translator cluster of chaos.
